An early morning two-car collision resulted in the death of all three people involved in the crash. The accident, which happened shortly after midnight on Route 27 near Stony Road in Edison, killed two family men in one car and the 15-year-old driver in the other.
According to authorities, the unlicensed 15-year-old boy was driving a 1995 Honda Civic on Route 27 when he crossed the yellow line and collided with another vehicle. The two men were a 46-year-old husband and father of four children and a 35-year-old husband and father of three. The 15-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Families who are confronted with the death of a loved one lost in a catastrophic auto accident may find themselves forced to carry out final arrangements while coping with the emotional and mental shock of the loss. Faced with the need to make sudden and dramatic adjustments in their lives, they can easily become overwhelmed. During this difficult period, there may be legal, administrative and financial matters that must be addressed.
There are provisions under law that allow families of car accident victims to recover economic damages from those responsible for their losses. These may include actual costs arising from the accident as well as compensation for the comfort, support and benefits of society the deceased family member would have provided in life. An attorney with experience in personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits may be able help these families protect and advance their legal and economic interests so that they are provided the resources they will need to get back to their normal lives.
