A car accident along the East Coast has led to the tragic death of a 15-year-old girl. After attending a high school dinner, the victim was being driven home by a 16-year-old friend. The freshman at Bucksport High School in Maine was remembered as an active member of her school’s cheerleading squad.
The car accident occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. when the two girls were traveling in a 1999 Subaru station wagon. After losing control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, the driver crashed into a tree by the side of the road. According to a witness at the scene, the car was engulfed in smoke after landing in a ditch. Both the driver and passenger were transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center where the passenger was pronounced dead. The condition of the driver is unclear.
Twenty-four hours after the fatal car accident, friends of the victim constructed a memorial at the scene. Friends placed flowers and pink and purple balloons. One friend of the victim commented on how hard the loss had been on everyone. He went on to say that the victim had planned to manage his wrestling team in the near future and had a big life ahead of her.
