A crash in Brookhaven took the life of one person and sent two more to the hospital. According to the police report, the accident occurred on Aug. 31 a little before 4 p.m. close to the intersection of Montauk Highway and Horseblock Road.
A woman driving a 2004 Chevy Malibu was attempting to make a turn off of Horseblock Road onto Montauk Highway when she struck a 2011 Chrysler 300. Both drivers were taken to a local medical center for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. A passenger inside the Malibu was killed as a result of the car accident. The woman driving the Malibu was charged with reckless driving. She was released on bail and has a court appearance scheduled for Nov. 4. Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
