New York car accident kills two, injures others

On Behalf of | Aug 19, 2015 | Car Accidents

When a vehicle is disabled on the side of the road and the driver is in the midst of getting help, it may prove to be a vulnerable position to be in for all involved. Recently, an accident took place in New York which claimed the life of two people, while leaving a number of others injured. The car accident involved a disabled vehicle and tow truck.

While the disabled vehicle and tow truck were on the side of the road, a pickup truck came along and veered off the road. It hit the disabled vehicle. The pickup truck then went back onto the road and struck another vehicle.

There were two people in the disabled vehicle, ages 33 and 34. Both of them lost their lives in the car accident. The driver in the third vehicle hit and two people in the pickup truck suffered injuries, although there was no word as to the severity of those injuries. The roadway was closed for hours.

The driver of the pickup that hit the disabled vehicle and then hit another vehicle may be held liable for the injuries and deaths caused in this car accident. If the injured parties and/or families of the two deceased victims decide to pursue a person injury suit or a wrongful death claim in a New York civil court, those parties may be entitled to monetary damages if the case proves to be successful. Those damages may be beneficial as families of the victims and the other victims deal with medical bills, lost wages, funeral costs or other damages sustained as a result of the tragic crash.
