New York autistic, mute teen still missing

A 14-year-old boy, who is both autistic and non-verbal, was still missing at the time of the report. He was last seen on surveillance tape leaving the Riverdale School in Long Island City on Oct. 4. Police as well as civilian volunteers have been combing the neighborhoods of Queens, Long island City and Greenpoint, distributing flyers and asking residents for help. The commanding officer of the Rego Park distinct calls finding the teen his "No. 1 effort." A law firm offered a $5,000 reward for the boy's safe return.

2 fathers and a 15-year-old die in New Jersey car crash

An early morning two-car collision resulted in the death of all three people involved in the crash. The accident, which happened shortly after midnight on Route 27 near Stony Road in Edison, killed two family men in one car and the 15-year-old driver in the other.

Fifteen-year-old cheerleader dies in car crash

A car accident along the East Coast has led to the tragic death of a 15-year-old girl. After attending a high school dinner, the victim was being driven home by a 16-year-old friend. The freshman at Bucksport High School in Maine was remembered as an active member of her school's cheerleading squad.

Older driver kills pedestrian in Queens

On Sept. 23, an elderly driver hit and killed a pedestrian in the Whitestone section of Queens. The brother of the victim told news sources that this incident occurred only a few years after the brothers' mother was hit and killed in a fatal pedestrian accident.
