4 pedestrians killed over two days in New York City

Following a string of auto-pedestrian accidents over a two-day period, New York City residents and lawmakers alike are suggesting possible changes that need to be made in high-traffic areas in order to keep people safe. Mayor Bill de Blasio recently announced his plan to implement a multi-agency task force called 'Vision Zero" with the goal of reducing roadway fatalities.

Pedestrian killed on way home from store

A New York woman was killed in an accident on Jan. 11 just yards away from her apartment. The pedestrian accident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx. The 32-year-old mother of two was crossing the street after running an errand at a nearby store. According to police, she was struck by a 28-year-old driver.

Fall at new Staten Island courthouse leads to suit

A construction worker who was injured at the site of the future St. George courthouse on Staten Island has filed a lawsuit. The complaint alleges unsafe work conditions and seeks damages from 10 named defendants, including the state Office of Court Administration, the city, various other contractors and the state Dormitory Authority.

New York accident leaves two critically injured

Witnesses and the FDNY say that two people were critically injured in a car accident in the Murray Hill neighborhood in Queens on New Year's Eve. Authorities took two injured drivers to New York Hospital Queens following the car accident. Police provided little information, but witnesses were able to describe the scene.
